And responding, Peter says to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good that we are here; let us make three shelters—one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
(For he did not know what he should say, because they were terrified.)
And a cloud appeared, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud: “This is My beloved Son; listen to Him!”
And suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone with them, but only Jesus.

And they were asking Him, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
And He said to them, “Elijah, having come first, does indeed restore all things. And yet, how is it written regarding the Son of Man that He should suffer many things and be treated with utter contempt?
But I say to you that Elijah has indeed come, and they did to him whatever they wanted, just as it is written regarding him.”

And when they came to the disciples, they saw a great crowd around them and scribes arguing with them.
And immediately, when the whole crowd saw Him, they were greatly amazed and ran up to Him to greet Him.
And He asked them, “What are you arguing about with them?”
And one person from the crowd answered Him, “Teacher, I brought my son to You, for he has a spirit that makes him mute.
And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down; and he foams at the mouth, grinds his teeth, and becomes rigid. I spoke to Your disciples so that they might cast it out, but they were not strong enough.”
And He answered them and says, “O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him to Me.”

And they brought the boy to Him. When the spirit saw Him, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion, and falling on the ground, he began rolling around, foaming at the mouth.
And Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood.
And it has often thrown him both into fire and into water to destroy him; but if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us!”
And Jesus said to him, “‘If You can’? All things are possible for the one who believes.”
Immediately, crying out, the father of the child was saying, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

When Jesus saw that a crowd was running together toward them, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you: come out of him and never enter him again!”
And after crying out and convulsing him greatly, it came out; and he became like a corpse, so that most of them were saying, “He is dead.”
But Jesus, taking him by the hand, raised him up, and he stood up.

John said to Him, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to stop him because he was not following us.”
But Jesus said, “Do not stop him. For there is no one who will perform a miracle in My name and be able soon after to speak evil of Me.
For whoever is not against us is for us.
For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in the name that you belong to Christ—truly I say to you, he will certainly not lose his reward.”

"And whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a large millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.
And if your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life crippled than having two hands to go away into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire. [[44 where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.]]
And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life lame than having two feet to be thrown into Gehenna. [[46 where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.]]
And if your eye causes you to stumble, throw it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than having two eyes to be thrown into Gehenna,
where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.”
