A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.

1 Oh Yahweh, don't rebuke me in your wrath; neither chasten me in your hot displeasure.

38:1 Κύριε, μὴ τῷ θυμῷ σου ἐλέγξῃς με, μηδὲ τῇ ὀργῇ σου παιδεύσῃς με. 38:1 κύριε, μὴ τῷ θυμῷ σου ἐλέγξῃς με, μηδὲ τῇ ὀργῇ σου παιδεύσῃς με.

3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of your anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.

4 For my iniquities are gone over my head; as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease; and there is no soundness in my flesh.

8 I am feeble and sore broken; I have roared by reason of the unrest of my heart.

12 They also who seek after my life lay snares for me; and they who seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

13 But I, as a deaf man, didn't hear; and I was as a dumb man who doesn't open his mouth.

14 Thus I was as a man who doesn't hear, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

16 For I said, “Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me; when my foot slips, they magnify themselves against me.”

μήποτε ἐπιχαρῶσίν μοι οἱ ἐχθροί μου,
καὶ ἐν τῷ σαλευθῆναι πόδας μου, ἐπ' ἐμὲ ἐμεγαλορρημόνησαν. 		38:16 ὅτι εἶπα·

“Only let not my enemies be happy over me, and when my feet were shaken, they bragged against me”; 		38:16 because I said,

17 For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.

18 For I will declare my iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

19 But my enemies are lively, and they are strong; and they who hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

20 They also who render evil for good are my adversaries; because I follow the thing that is good.

38:20 οἱ ἀνταποδιδόντες κακὰ ἀντὶ ἀγαθῶν, ἐνδιέβαλλόν με, ἐπεὶ κατεδίωκον δικαιοσύνην. [καὶ ἀπέρριψάν με τὸν ἀγαπητὸν ὡσεὶ νεκρὸν ἐβδελυγμένον]. 38:20 οἱ ἀνταποδιδόντες μοι κακὰ ἀντὶ ἀγαθῶν ἐνδιέβαλλόν με, ἐπεὶ κατεδίωκον ἀγαθωσύνην.
