Chapter 62
Zion's Glory and New Name
| 1 For Zion’s sake I will not be silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until My righteousness goes forth like light, and My salvation shall burn like a torch. 2 And nations shall see your righteousness, and kings your glory; and your new name shall call you, which the Lord Himself shall name. 3 And you shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. 4 And no longer shall you be called "Abandoned," and your land shall not be called "Desert"; for to you it shall be called "My Will [is in her]," and to your land, "Inhabited." |
The Marriage of the Land
| 5 And as a young man lives with a virgin, so shall your sons dwell with you; and in the way that a bridegroom shall rejoice over a bride, so shall the Lord rejoice over you. |
The Watchmen of Jerusalem
| 6 And upon your walls, Jerusalem, I have stationed guards all day and all night, who through the end shall not be silent, reminding [themselves] of the Lord. 7 For there is no one like you, if He should set [you] right and make Jerusalem a boast upon the earth. 8 The Lord has sworn by His right hand and by the strength of His arm: "I will no longer give your grain and your food to your enemies, and no longer shall the sons of strangers drink your wine for which you labored; 9 but rather, those who gather them shall eat them and shall praise the Lord, and those who gather them shall drink them in My holy courts." |
Preparing the Way
| 10 Pass through My gates and prepare the way for My people, and cast away the stones from the road; lift up a signal-flag for the nations. 11 For behold, the Lord has made it heard to the end of the earth: "Say to the daughter of Zion: Behold, your Savior comes to you, having His own reward and His work before His face." 12 And He shall call it a holy people, redeemed by the Lord; and you shall be called "Sought-after City" and "Not Abandoned." |
