Some people draw great conclusions from the fact that "Jesus wept" is the shortest verse because it shows the compassion of the Lord. However, since the inspired Scripture is not the English translation, but the Greek; the shortest verse really doesn't have such significance. Luke 20:30 is found in the account that the Sadducees brought to Jesus to prove that there is no physical resurrection. Seven brothers in succession had married the one woman. "Whose wife will she be in the resurrection?"
